Yup…a true legend of the video game, OutRun is one of the ancient treasures of the arcade racing game on terminals, but also on consoles. The title, technically impressive for its time, very relevant in its gameplay and terribly effective on its soundtrack, was popular with players. Sega, determined to revive the license, has marketed OutRun 2 and OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast, unfortunately forgettable two parts.

It is through the OFLC (Office of Film and Literature Classification), the Australian classification, we learn that a new episode is in preparation.

Back to Basics?
The page online before yesterday said that OutRun Arcade Online is provided by Sega. Unlike the previous developer, the British studio Sumo Digital, THQ seems to be responsible for designing this new episode. As its name suggests, the game will benefit a wide room for features online. It is also clarified that it is an “original”, suggesting a remake of the original opus reviewed and corrected.

Although the license is primarily reserved for terminals arcade, OutRun Arcade Online is highlighted as multi production platforms. For more information, we await the first outpouring of Sega.
